Book Eight of Code Red: Zebras Have Red Stripes8-17550

Green Isle, Minnesota had the fogged streetlights trying to shine down Highway 25. The main street of the town that had snow blowing across the empty farming prairie that stretched south out of town. The five-hundred residents were quietly sleeping on that December 6, 2008, Sunday evening.

No one claimed to hear the screams of terror from the brutal torture. Daniel Juarez’s body was found inside his 2003 Black Chevrolet Trailblazer. No one saw the light from the blazing car. No one heard the gun shot. No one heard his voice screaming while he burned to death.

Perhaps, the leprechauns were working their Irish magic and cast a spell over the town. That stupefy spell must have been cast across all of Sibley County. The coroner determined the death was a homicide murder.

She entered the courtroom in command, stunningly beautiful and well composed. There was no way to read the verdict from the judge’s face. There was no jury in the civil matter.

She commanded everyone to be seated. The long old oak benches softly creaked and echoed off the tall light oak panel walls of the courtroom. Everyone sat rigidly as the court reporter read the prelude of rules and commands used daily in the courtroom.

The benches, again, began to creek under the weight of the rigid bodies waiting in anticipation. Although there would be no winners and no losers today, this was simply a formality, the outcome would have to be judged at a higher level. The question, would the Motion be moved out of Civil Court to the US Federal Criminal system?

Two suicides and Agent Holder calling to inform Logan International Enterprise that an undercover FBI agent had been found tortured and burned to death just west of the Logan Homestead leaves Chris, Dave and Roth looking for answers.

Holder suspected the killing was linked to an international group distributing stolen electronics. The Japanese company was sending a hit squad to recover the proprietary software that had been unknowingly sold to the Chicago Russian Mob.
